Who it is for

  • Businesses without anyone technical in-house
  • Owners who do not want another admin panel to learn
  • Anyone whose hosting is a mystery inherited from a previous developer
  • Businesses that want one person responsible when something breaks

What it solves

  • Nobody quite sure where the site is hosted or who pays for it
  • A certificate that expires without warning
  • No backups, or backups nobody has ever tested
  • Support that answers in three working days
  • A control panel with two hundred settings and no guidance

What can be included

Not every project needs everything here. The scope is agreed before work starts, and the quotation reflects what you actually asked for.

Included

  • Hosting
  • SSL certificate
  • Basic backups
  • Hosting configuration
  • Technical management
  • Basic uptime monitoring
  • Security configuration

What you get out of it

  • One person responsible, who answers
  • Certificates and renewals handled before they expire
  • Backups that exist and have been checked
  • No control panel to learn
  • Predictable monthly cost

What you receive

  • Hosting set up and configured properly
  • An SSL certificate that renews without you thinking about it
  • Backups running, and checked
  • Basic uptime monitoring
  • One person to contact when something looks wrong
  • Your domain and site remaining yours throughout

What is needed from you

  • Access to the current hosting, if migrating
  • Access to the domain, or its DNS
  • A quiet window for the move, so nobody is mid-order
Security considered from the start. Hosting is configured with HTTPS enforced, the certificate kept current, sensible file and access permissions, backups in place, and the security configuration reviewed rather than left at defaults. Where relevant, development practices take recognised guidance from organisations such as OWASP and the UK National Cyber Security Centre into consideration.

Standards and guidance this work follows

Not a certification claim. These are the published references the work is measured against, so the decisions are somebody else's tested thinking rather than only mine.

National Cyber Security Centre

UK government guidance on small business security, account protection, device management and backups. Used as the reference point for what good practice looks like.

OWASP

The Open Worldwide Application Security Project. Its guidance on authentication, access control, input validation, session handling and safe error messages informs how anything with a login or a form is built.

Following recognised guidance is not the same as holding an independent certification, and none is claimed here.

How it works

  1. Look at what you have

Where the site lives now, what it needs, and whether moving is worth it.

  2. Agree the arrangement

What is included, what is not, and what it costs monthly.

  3. Move or set up

Migration handled with the site staying up, or set up fresh if it is a new build.

  4. Ongoing

Monitoring, renewals and backups handled. You get told if something needs a decision.

Hosting covers the server side. Updates to WordPress, plugins and content are covered by website care, which includes hosting within it.

Prices shown are starting prices. Final pricing depends on project requirements, functionality, complexity, integrations and third-party services. A clear quotation is provided before work begins.

Honest scope: basic uptime monitoring means a problem is usually noticed before you notice it. A guaranteed response time is not included at this price, and saying otherwise would be misleading.

Common questions

Do I have to host with you?

No. If you have hosting you are happy with, keep it. This exists because some businesses would rather not think about it at all.

Who owns the domain and the website?

You do. The domain, the site, the content and the business data are yours. If you ever want to move elsewhere, it goes with you under the agreed terms.

Does hosting include updates?

No, that is website care, which includes hosting within it. Hosting on its own is the server side only.
